Not good!
Looks like I could miss at least the first Vixen race My ISP went down very suddenly, they are now offering refunds but this damn dodgy company http://www.ezeedsl.co.uk who claim that Tiscali have put them in charge and can reconnect me within the hour will not release my line. I phoned Tiscali who claim they have no idea what's going on and have nothing to do with this.
Personally I think ezeedsl could be my current ISP changed names.
This ezeedsl have seemingly got the user databases from my previous ISP and have confirmed this to me which would breach the data protection act surely!? They have no changed what they said on there website and claim not to have the user database.
This ezeedsl have come out of no where and there address in the whois record is the wrong number to what is on the website.
Anyway they say I'll have to wait till the 14th of July before the line will be released.
Ofcom are investigating but they seem like a big waste of time. When I had problems with my domain name holder I got in touch with nominet who sorted it all out for me.
If any of you guys know how I can get a MAC code I'd be grateful. This ezeedsl claim they have come to my rescue and I should be grateful otherwise I'd have lost all services. Well all they have given me is a page to force me to take a contract with them. No way in hell I'm doing that.
Can you believe this ezeedsl don't even have an e-mail address!! You're forced to phone them.
Anyway sorry for all the time I wont be able to make the training etc but I'm still practicing offline in the hope that I can make the first race...

RE: Not good!
That sucks man! I hope it gets sorted quickly for you! If you're looking for a decent ISP, choose PIPEX. I've had no problems with them, and when something goes wrong they are very friendly and helpful. Good prices too imo.

Well EzeeDSL/Tiscali are going to release our lines on the 14th after 4pm, BT wholesale then need to deal with this and could take up to 10 working days Could be without broadband at home till the end of the month!

RE: Not good!
The packages have all changed on Pipex now. Infact, it's a bit dearer now. I have the Go package now, but when i got it the offer had uncapped bandwidth and was called something else. Not sure if i'm capped now.

RE: Not good!
I use ZenADSL. They've been rated Top UK ISP for 3 years running now, and you can see why.
Whilst they might be more expensive for a typical package, you'll find no traffic management/monitoring, no bandwidth limits and a generally superbly reliable package. I'd go with them over any other ISP... any day.

RE: Not good!
Damn it all, according to BT they reckon the first date my new ISP will be able to place an order on my line is the 25th July! The next vixen race, so by the looks of it I'll miss that as well Are we allowed to drop our two worst rounds this season ?

RE: Not good!
Just my luck, now our line is clear another problem has come up and has stopped us from ordering broadband Seemingly BT say that we requested for only outgoing calls or something like that. So now we have to wait till they sort that out :/ Funny that since any phone calls to them have been about broadband not phone calls :s

RE: Not good!
w00t, finally. Can you believe we wasted 3 days all because of the two people we talked to at BT didn't have a clue what they were talking about. The third person we phoned said theres a marker on this line from 1996 that is preventing you from getting broadband, LOL. Our area didn't get bb till like 2002/3. Anyway my Dad went with BT for our BB so 40gb cap, but meh he pays for it. Just signed up this morning, so techincally our start date is the 10th of August but the router is managing to connect
Hopefully I should be in the next Vixen and join in with practice but just in case I'm not it's probably down to my connection.
