Headphones for gaming
As I have to use headphones for racing almost every time I thought getting a better one than I have now. I now have some neverheard make and after few hours of playing my ears start to hurt because the headphones lack of any adjusting abilities. I guess I have a big head
Does anyone know what would be a good set? It has to be wireless, I find it A LOT better than the wired one. I guess it would be a good investment too for getting one with a microphone too. Is there any surround headphones with a sensible pricetag?

RE: Headphones for gaming
I have a set of speedlink medusa 5.1 headphones - not wireless i'm afraid but they are fantastic, the bass is quite scary
The wireless 5.1's i tried when i was buying my current ones werent much good, you would probably have to pay above £70 for some decent ones

RE: Headphones for gaming
Those Speedlink's sound excellent, thanks for the info. But I really need wireless ones because I will use them also for watching TV at nighttime... I guess this one will be expensive
Is there a wireless version of that Speedlink? I looked two electronics shops at here and all they sell is pretty much standard headphones. Have to order them anyway from some online shop.
I was thinking by the way that would it be better to buy headphones without microphone and buy a separate desktop mic instead?

RE: Headphones for gaming
Desktop mics are annoying, they pick up sound from the surrounding environment. Don't try it with a FFB wheel that makes a noise, gets very annoying. Headset mics are much better.

Ah you're right. Didn't realise that at all!
Metalstar, how long is the cord in your Medusa set? Quick thinking made me realise that the bucks I save getting a wired version is worth of the troubles
Speed-Link Medusa 5.1 ProGamer Edition: 76 euros. From where I can order that set...

I have a 7.1 surround sound card and a 5.1 DTS Dolby receiver - Headphones worth of 3 euros will not do

RE: Headphones for gaming
The cable on my speedlinks is about 3metres, probably a bit more.
I dont think they do a wireless version yet. I cant find any decent looking 5.1 wireless headphones on the net! Just get the speedlinks and cut the wire off with a pair of scissors . .
it might be possible to rig up a transmitter of some sort like they do with guitars, but i dont know of any that will transmit a 5.1 signal.

RE: Headphones for gaming
Ive got a nice Logitech USB headset. Cant remember the exact model, but they were about £20 to buy. Not wireless unfortunately, but the sound is great for a relatively cheap set and they have held up pretty well!
